Mesmer Spike Build
Be nice, i've just started using a mesmer PvP. Here is a build i've messed with.
16 Fast Casting
12 Domination magic
8 Inspiration
4 Healing Prayers
7 Protection Prayers
40/40 fast casting (or domination) set
[skill]Arcane Languor[/skill][skill]Arcane Echo[/skill][skill]Aneurysm[/skill][skill]Energy Burn[/skill][skill]Power Spike[/skill][skill]Power Drain[/skill][skill]Restful Breeze[/skill][skill]Protective Spirit[/skill]
Usage: Echo, Cast Arcane Languor on a spellcaster, if they try to remove hexes, use Power Spike, then Power Drain if they try again before spike is recharged. About 11 seconds later, cast the echoed Languor. If they've been casting while under Languor, the Exhaustion is really piling up. Now cast Energy Burn, followed immediately by Aneurysm.
If they've been casting under Languor, just spam Aneurysm on them, if not, repeat the process. With a fully exhausted Monk (say he has around 50 max energy), each cast of aneurysm does 150 damage to him.....forcing him to either cast while under Languor, or die.
Fire eles are easy pickins =) Usually they have about 85 max energy (or more). Fully exhausted.....Aneurysm does 255 damage to them, and its spammable.
Before going into aggro range of anything, cast prot spirit. If you come under heavy fire, cast Restful Breeze and run away.
Since dying doesn't clear exhaustion, once you know someone is fully exhausted, you can wtfpwn them on site. It's why i call the build "The Bitchmaker"
Have fun!

It has a Superior rune.
Besides - Enchanter's Conundrum -> Shatter Delusions is pretty much the best spike build going now for Mesmer.

It has more than one superior rune, which is why you have to bring Prot spirit.

This is PvP...
I know you just started, but some advice, which I doubt anyone will disagree on: DO NOT USING MULTIPLE SUP RUNS (Unless Sup Vigor)!
Try and stick with ALL minors (Except Sup Vigor) + You really think a wammo will keep hitting you when he realizes you have prot spirirt + 10 regen?
This isn't UW, this is PvP, where people actually DO bring interrupts/enchant removal...

[skill]fragility[/skill][skill]auspicious incantation[/skill][skill]conjure nightmare[/skill][skill]signet of illusions[/skill][skill]shell shock[/skill][skill]immolate[/skill][skill]steam[/skill][skill]resurrection signet[/skill]
Illusion Magic --> 12+1+1
Fast Casting --> 12+1
This one is fun too
By the way, you should only use minor runes in PvP with exception to vigor. No if, ands, or buts about it!

AB isn't really a good place to test a build. Anything works there. A sup rune should never be used in PvP.
It's a pretty good idea though.

I tried this with some success in RA and AB
[skill]Signet of Illusions[/skill][skill]conjure nightmare[/skill][skill]phantom pain[/skill][skill]shatter delusions[/skill][skill]energy burn[/skill]
for single target pressure + spike
use [skill]power leak[/skill] or [skill]power spike[/skill] for interrupt
or
[skill]Auspicious Incantation[/skill] [skill]rodgort's invocation[/skill] or [skill]lightning hammer[/skill] for additional dmg and energy.

You've got nothing to stop Languor from being removed, and that's even if you manage to get the cast off on either Echo or Languor.

I can see several problems: no cover hex for languor, no actual spike (all damage should occur within 1 second), attributes spread to thinly, too little health for pvp with sup fast casting.
I hope this was constructive.

I took an empty skill bar on a warrior to AB. We won 500-200 on saltspray. What's your point?
You can easily achieve the same results by taking out prot spirit, having more health, and putting in another useful skill.

[skill]holy veil[/skill] is used alot in PVP and the caster will have it cast before you get arcane on them. This will remove only one and you can try again to shut down. You need something for melee IMO. If a melee wants to whack at you you are toast especially a sin running shattering assualt.

with the veil updates lauger is not exactly a great skill to run if you ask me anymore.....if veil now targets the first hex that was on the char after it was put on.

I never though I would use [skill]aneurysm[/skill] and you sir have given me a little inspiration to try it out. I have been trying your build minus the arcane echo and the one of the interrupts in RA and it does work. I have been throwing in [skill]spirit shackles[/skill] and [skill]empathy[/skill] this way I have a little breathing space if a melee character chooses me. RA is a box of chocolates you never know what you are going to get. I only have been getting 150 range for spikes but it is epic to hit them ever couple seconds. One case I had a derv and hacking on two targets and his energy dropped to nothing in seconds. Spirit shackles and arcane mixed. (dervs like spamming enchantments )Then he seriously ran away when he saw no energy. Which was more fun for me to spike him to death.
